What to do during the next few weeks . . .
Boosting reading skills can still happen while we are not in school. Students in the lower grades (K-2) can keep up their blending practice by reading the nonsense words for their grade level in this website. We will be extending this list dramatically over the next day.
There are also plenty of opportunities to play free word-reading games through Vocabulary City. If you are up for something different, feel free to try reading a story through Spritzlet Reading, which is located on the menu. Spritzlet will display the text one word at a time.
Raz-Kids Is also available to all grades (K-5) through your child's Raz-Kids account. Every child in grades K-2 has a free account; students in grades 3-5 have an account if they receive ELL or reading services.
For this week, If your child does not already have an account on Raz-Kids and you would like to utilize this online reading resource, please email me at ecatizone@Arlington.k12.ma.us and I would be happy to set up an account for your child.
Lastly, there Is always the option of grabbing a book that looks like it may be a fun family read, or something your child is interested in reading and have some D.E.A.R. time . . . Drop Everything and Read.
Please feel free to reach out to me or the reading staff during this time away from school. You may use the Contact Stratton Reading link at the left and someone will get back to you shortly.
Stay safe and healthy!
